Emine Erdogan Hosts WHO Delegation to Discuss Health
(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Emine Erdogan, the First Lady of Türkiye, welcomed a delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO) at the Presidential Complex in Ankara. Among those present were Hans Kluge, WHO's Europe Director, and Tasnim Atatrah, the WHO's representative in Türkiye.
The Turkish Minister of Health, Kemal Memisoglu, also participated in the meeting.
The discussion primarily focused on Türkiye's prominent role in Europe regarding alternative medicine knowledge and practices.
During the talks, Kluge expressed his appreciation for Türkiye’s leadership on issues related to Gaza.
He commended the nation's efforts in advancing traditional, complementary, and integrative medicine as part of its broader health innovation strategy.
Kluge also called for increased collaboration to enhance the health of children and adolescents.
In addition, Kluge congratulated Türkiye on its upcoming role as the host of COP31, and suggested that global climate discussions should integrate health and sustainability considerations.
