King Meets With Singapore Prime Minister, Finance Minister

Singapore, Nov. 14 (Petra)-- His Majesty King Abdullah II met with Singapore Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong in Singapore on Friday to discuss the strength of relations between Jordan and Singapore, and the importance of further developing them.
His Majesty emphasized Jordan's readiness to expand partnerships with Singapore in a number of sectors, including trade, investment, education, water, public sector management, energy, and defense cooperation.
The meeting also addressed the latest developments in the Middle East, with the King stressing the need to exert maximum efforts to ensure full adherence to the agreement to end the war on Gaza, and toward de-escalating tensions in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
His Majesty commended Singapore's role in contributing to the humanitarian response in Gaza, noting the importance of Jordan and Singapore maintaining cooperation in this regard.
During the meeting attended by His Royal Highness Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, His Majesty's chief adviser for religious and cultural affairs and personal envoy the King reiterated that the two-state solution is the only way to achieve peace and end the conflict in the region.
Discussions also touched on the importance of supporting Syria and Lebanon's efforts to maintain their security, stability, and territorial integrity.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, and Jordan's Ambassador to Singapore Saed Radaideh attended the meeting.
