(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA))
KUWAIT, Nov 12 (KUNA) -- Minister of State for Communication Affairs Omar Al-Omar said Wednesday that Kuwait is shifting from "digital services" to "smart journeys," reflecting the state's vision of a proactive and citizen-focused smart government.
Speaking at the opening of the second Sahel Forum, organized by the Executive Committee of the unified government app Sahel and Sahel Business, Al-Omar said the platform now serves over three million users and has completed more than 120 million digital transactions.
He noted that the "new-born" service was the first in a series of integrated digital services involving multiple entities, supported by clear directives from the leadership and Cabinet to accelerate digital transformation and data integration.
Committee member Fajer Al-Yaseen said Sahel offers 483 services from 41 government bodies and that more than 6,000 births were registered through the new-born service. Upcoming projects include a central reporting system for issuing house and marriage documents.
Advisor to the Minister Eng. Tareq Al-Darbass highlighted the need to re-engineer procedures, integrate data, and adopt AI to enhance user experience.
He stressed the importance of moving to integrated digital services that focus on the life and needs of citizens.
The one-day forum showcased successful digital-service models from the Ministries of Interior, the Kuwait Credit Bank, and the Public Authority for Housing Welfare, followed by a closed session discussing priorities for developing future digital services and exchanging experiences and challenges.
