Saudi Arabia To Develop Tourism As 2Nd Largest Economic Sector: Official


(MENAFN- Nam News Network) RIYADH, Nov 12 (NNN-SPA) – Saudi Arabia aims to develop tourism as its second largest economic sector, to create employment opportunities and achieve long-term economic sustainability, Deputy Tourism Minister, Mahmoud Abdulhadi, said here yesterday.

Speaking on the conclusion of the 26th session of the UN Tourism General Assembly, Abdulhadi emphasized the Saudi government's significant investments in tourism infrastructure.

“We have 29 airports nationwide, more than 70,000 km of roads, and a developing rail network,” he noted.

He noted the“strong and deep” economic ties between Saudi Arabia and China, and highlighted China as“an important partner” in Saudi Arabia's tourism development.

“Chinese companies, with their expertise and technology, have played a crucial role in driving development in Saudi Arabia, and this cooperation will continue for many years to come,” he said.

Abdulhadi, who visited China recently, expressed his admiration for the Chinese culture's depth and vitality.

“I believe that Chinese visitors to Saudi Arabia will find our people exceptionally welcoming and will be deeply impressed by the richness and uniqueness of our culture,” he added.– NNN-SPA
