Nicholas Aderinto, MD

Nicholas Aderinto, MD, is a physician, researcher, and PhD student at the University of Utah, where he also serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Neuroplasticity and Movement Dynamics Lab. He earned his MBBS from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Nigeria. He later completed his medical internship at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, where he gained strong clinical training in internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics, and gynecology.
His research is at the intersection of neuroscience, neurology, and stroke rehabilitation, with a focus on understanding brain plasticity and movement recovery after neurological injury. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers and three book chapters and contributes as an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE and Topic Editor for Frontiers in Neurology. His collaborative work has involved researchers from leading institutions, including Harvard, Johns Hopkins, and the University of Geneva.
Recognized by Elsevier's SciVal as one of the Top 500 Researchers in Medicine in Africa, Dr. Aderinto is also a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the European Academy of Neurology, the World Stroke Organization, and the Royal College of Physicians (London and Edinburgh). Alongside his research, he remains deeply committed to advancing global health, stroke care, and neurorehabilitation, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.
