Türkiye Participates in 26th UN Tourism Assembly


(MENAFN) Türkiye participated in the 26th UN Tourism General Assembly held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with Nadir Alpaslan, the deputy minister of culture and tourism, representing the nation.

The assembly, conducted on Sunday and Monday under the theme “AI-Powered Tourism: Redefining the Future,” concentrated on digital innovation, sustainable practices, and inclusive development within the tourism industry.

Delegates from over 160 nations attended the event to deliberate on strategic decisions that will influence global tourism over the next fifty years.

During the assembly, a declaration was endorsed, creating the first worldwide framework for the ethical, fair, and sustainable application of artificial intelligence in tourism.

In addition, Alpaslan engaged in bilateral discussions with tourism authorities from Angola, Albania, Venezuela, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, and Niger, exploring possibilities for cooperation, joint initiatives, and policies supporting sustainable tourism.
