Türkiye’s Industrial Output Rises in September


(MENAFN) Türkiye’s industrial production index climbed by 2.9% compared to the same month last year, according to data released on Monday by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).

All industrial sub-sectors experienced growth in September, with the most notable expansion occurring in the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply index, which increased by 5.3%.

The mining and quarrying index recorded a 3.1% rise, while the manufacturing index expanded by 2.7% year-on-year during the same period.

In terms of technology-based production, high-tech manufacturing surged by 29%, medium-high technology output advanced by 4.9%, and medium-low technology improved by 5.7%.

In contrast, low-technology manufacturing saw a 4.7% decline.

However, on a monthly basis, overall industrial production dropped by 2.2% in September, reflecting a short-term slowdown despite the annual growth trend.
