Zelensky Arrives In Kherson

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The head of state announced this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"Today we mark a very important day – the third anniversary of the expulsion of Russian occupiers from Kherson. I presented state awards to people of different professions – both military and civilians – who all serve their country here in Kherson," Zelensky said.

He noted that the people of Kherson played a decisive role both in resisting the occupiers and in bringing life back to the city.

"The most important thing is that there are such people. I'm convinced this is the greatest treasure Kherson has. This is the Kherson region – this is Ukraine. These are people who protect lives every day, who live for Ukraine, who help, volunteer, and save others – our soldiers, our rescuers from the State Emergency Service," Zelensky said.

He also said he visited a hospital in Kherson today. "I want to thank the doctors, nurses, and medical staff," he noted.

Separately, Zelensky expressed gratitude to local farmers: "I want to thank the farmers – many of them are truly heroic people. You are among those who preserved the integrity of our state and restored hope for victory. This is so important."

He added that he would hold a special meeting in Kherson with local officials and representatives of the unmanned component of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and special services responsible for security. "We are preparing decisions that will strengthen Kherson," Zelensky said.

Kherson was liberated from Russian occupiers on November 11, 2022.

In the fall of 2022, the Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated the right-bank part of the Kherson region, including the city of Kherson. The part of the region on the left bank of the Dnipro River remains temporarily occupied by Russian forces.
