Doha: Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Ibrahim bin Ali Al Muhannadi has issued a decision naming the members of the Real Estate Registration Committee at the Ministry of Justice.

The decision stipulates that the committee shall be formed under the chairmanship of Director of the Real Estate Registration Department Mohammed Hassan Alrumaihi, and Assistant Director of the Real Estate Registration Department Talib Ali Al Marri as vice-chairman.

The committee shall also include the following members: Abdulkarim Hamoud Al Ruwaili, representing the Department of State Cases at the Ministry of Justice; Ali Manikher Al Hajri, representing the office for shared services at the Ministry of Justice; Ghanem Mohammed Al Kubaisi, Talal Nayef Al Shammari, and Nasser Ghanem Al Kuwari, representing the Ministry of Municipality; and Nasser Muhanna Al Mannai, representing the Ministry of Social Development and Family.

The formation of this committee comes as part of the Ministry of Justice's efforts to meet citizens' needs, enhance the efficiency of real estate registration services, and provide appropriate solutions for real estate applications submitted to the committee.

To that end, the Minister of Justice has issued the executive decisions for Law No. (5) of 2024 regulating real estate registration.

The law provides for the establishment of the Real Estate Registration Committee within the Ministry, which shall be responsible for deciding on applications to register unregistered properties within city and town boundaries, and considering objections raised in that regard.

The committee looks into objections raised concerning property valuations issued by the relevant department for the purpose of determining registration or recording fees.

It also decides on the ownership of unregistered properties or those expropriated for public benefit, in addition to considering objections relating to state property, along with any other powers or responsibilities that may be defined in the executive regulations of the law.
