(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TOKYO, Nov 11 (KUNA) -- Emperor Naruhito of Japan awarded on Tuesday His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun during a formal ceremony at the Matsu-no-Ma State Room of the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.
The decoration, the highest Japanese decoration granted to non-Japanese nationals for over a century and a half, was bestowed in recognition of outstanding achievements, particularly in strengthening international relations.
During the ceremony, His Highness conveyed the greetings of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to Emperor Naruhito, expressing pride in the deep ties between the two people.
In return, the Emperor handed His Highness a message to Kuwait conveying his greetings and best wishes for the Amir and the Kuwaiti people, reaffirming his commitment to enhancing Kuwaiti-Japanese relations to broader horizons. (end)
