Hrynchuk Declares Zero Tolerance For Corruption

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukrainian Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk stated this at a press conference on Monday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"For me, as Minister of Energy, it is important that investigative actions are conducted transparently and openly. And all individuals, if identified and proven guilty, must be brought to justice. Zero tolerance for corruption," Hrynchuk said.

She noted that Ihor Myroniuk, mentioned in the materials released by NABU, was not her adviser.

"As far as I know, the previous minister [German Galushchenko – ed.] also did not have such an adviser," Hrynchuk added.

She also said she was unaware of the exposed corruption scheme in the energy sector. Regarding the construction of protective structures at Energoatom facilities, Hrynchuk explained that such work is coordinated by the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development.

As reported, on November 10, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine announced the exposure of a corruption scheme in the energy sector. The criminal organization systematically received unlawful benefits from Energoatom's contractors amounting to 10–15% of contract values.

According to a law enforcement source cited by Ukrinform, NABU conducted searches at the premises of businessman and Kvartal 95 co-owner Tymur Mindich, as well as at the home of Justice Minister German Galushchenko, who previously served as Minister of Energy.
