EU Condemns Attacks On Power Plants Supplying Ukraine's Nuclear Facilities

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BRUSSELS, Nov 10 (KUNA) -- The European Union condemned on Monday the attacks targeting electricity generation stations that supply the Khmelnytskyi and Rivne nuclear plants in Ukraine.
EU spokesperson for foreign affairs, Anita Hipper, described the attacks in a post on X as "a shameful example of Russia's "peace" intentions" adding that the assault demonstrates "a reckless and cynical attack targeted substations that power Khmelnytskyi and Rivne nuclear plants".
Hipper emphasized that "Russia is willing to risk a nuclear disaster to inflict more suffering," stressing that Ukraine "is not alone" and that EU support "continues".
The Ukrainian government reported on Saturday that seven people were killed as a result of Russian attacks on substations supplying electricity to the Khmelnytskyi and Rivne nuclear power plants. (end)
