Technical Survey Of Panjsher Power Dam Completed
PARAKH (Pajhwok): The technical survey of a hydropower dam with a generation capacity of 10 megawatts has been completed in the Paryan district of central Panjsher province, an official announced on Monday.
Governor's spokesman Saifuddin Laton told Pajhwok Afghan News that the project would be implemented in the Bam Wardar area of the district and would supply electricity to Panjsher and Kapisa provinces.
He said the dam project would be executed by a private company named“77 Turkish Company” at an estimated cost of 20 million US dollars. The project will also create employment opportunities for hundreds of local residents once work begins.
Laton added that all necessary equipment and components for the project had been procured and were ready for installation.
He also announced that a power transmission line project from Doab to Hisa-i-Awal district of Panjsher, worth 56 million afghanis, had also been approved by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA).
Meanwhile, officials said preparations were underway to inaugurate the“Paranda Bazaarak” power dam project worth 7.6 million US dollars, which has a production capacity of four megawatts.
