Egypt's Pres. Urges Full Implementation Of Sharm El-Sheikh Deal
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA))
CAIRO, Nov 10 (KUNA) -- Egypt's President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi urged full implementation of the Sharm El-Sheikh agreement to end the Gaza war - stabilizing a ceasefire and allowing unrestricted, sufficient humanitarian aid.
In a meeting Monday with Russia's Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu, he reiterated that a two-state solution in line with international legitimacy is the only path to a just, lasting peace, and called for continued efforts to safeguard Middle East stability, sovereignty, and resources.
Egypt supports all efforts to resolve the Russia-Ukraine crisis and reach a comprehensive peace, Al-Sisi said.
Both sides discussed strengthening ties - building on agreements from Al-Sisi's May 2025 Moscow visit - including the Russian Industrial Zone in the Suez Canal Economic Zone and the El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant, with emphasis on expanding investment, trade, and tourism.
Al-Sisi noted the momentum in Egypt-Russia relations, capped by a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement; Shoigu asserted Russia's commitment to deepen cooperation and commended Egypt's regional role.
Attendees were Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, General Intelligence Chief Hassan Rashad, National Security Adviser Faiza Abou Al-Naga, Russia Deputy Secretary Alexander Venediktov, Ambassador of Russia to Egypt Georgiy Borisenko, Foreign Intelligence Service Deputy Sergey Mikheev, Security Council Official Andrei Yevseyev, and Presidential Administration Official Maria Baneva.
