China Deploys New Batch of Low Earth Orbit Satellites
(MENAFN) China on Monday successfully deployed a new batch of low Earth orbit satellites aimed at expanding its internet constellation, state media reported.
The launch, which took place from the southern island province of Hainan, will contribute to the country’s 13th internet satellite constellation, according to a Chinese news agency.
A Long March-12 carrier rocket lifted off at 10:41 a.m. local time (0241 GMT), propelling the satellites into their designated orbits with precision. The mission marks a continued push by China to bolster its satellite internet network, enhancing coverage and connectivity across the region.
No technical anomalies were reported, and the satellites are expected to begin operations shortly after deployment, further strengthening the nation’s expanding space-based communications infrastructure.
