Ten people get hospitalized after stabbing incidents on UK train
(MENAFN) A stabbing attack on a train traveling from Doncaster to London King’s Cross late Saturday left ten people hospitalized, with nine in critical condition, according to British authorities.
Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident, which involved multiple victims being attacked onboard. British Transport Police confirmed that counter-terrorism officers are assisting in the investigation to determine the motive and circumstances behind the attack.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing a man with a bloodied arm running through the carriage shouting, “They’ve got a knife,” while another observer described police using a Taser on a man on the platform.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the incident “deeply concerning” and urged the public to follow instructions from local authorities. On X, he wrote:
"My thoughts are with all those affected, and my thanks go to the emergency services for their response."
Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood expressed that she was “deeply saddened” by the news and advised caution, posting on X:
"I urge people to avoid comment and speculation at this early stage."
