Islamic Affairs Min. Discusses Humanitarian Coop. With UNHCR Representative

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Oct 27 (KUNA) -- Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohammad Al-Wasmi discussed on Monday with Dr. Khaled Khalifa, Senior Advisor to the UN High Commissioner and UNHCR Representative to the GCC States, ways to enhance cooperation in humanitarian and charitable fields.
Al-Wasmi affirmed in a statement to KUNA the ministry's keenness to support relief and humanitarian efforts and to promote Islamic values of solidarity and giving, in line with Kuwait's well-established humanitarian approach and pioneering role in charitable work.
For his part, Dr. Khalifa praised Kuwait's distinguished humanitarian role and the ministry's efforts, stressing that Kuwait stands as a model in humanitarian work under its wise leadership. (end)
