In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Hangu district, a powerful explosion targeting a police vehicle claimed the lives of SP Operations Asad Zubair and three police personnel, while two others sustained injuries.

According to police officials, the incident occurred in the Daraban area when SP Operations Asad Zubair, along with other personnel, was on his way to inspect the site of an earlier blast reported in Ghalmina. Before the deadly attack, militants had blown up a police checkpost using explosives; however, no casualties were reported in the first incident.

DSP Khanzeb Mohmand stated that in the second explosion, SP Asad Zubair and two police personnel were martyred on the spot, while two others were injured. The bodies and injured were immediately shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Hangu. Security forces have cordoned off the area, deployed additional contingents, and launched a search operation.

In a separate intelligence-based operation in Lakki Marwat, security forces killed eight militants and injured five others in Wanda Sheikh Allah.

According to security sources, the operation was carried out with high-level military precision, leaving no escape route for the militants. A search operation remains underway in the area amid reports of more militants possibly hiding nearby.
