Ajay Kumar Shrestha
- Professor, Computer Science, Vancouver Island University
I am a blockchain developer and a computer science professor at Vancouver Island University. I am also an adjunct professor at the university of Saskatchewan. I specialize in Ethical AI and machine learning, cybersecurity, blockchains and data privacy. My current research spans a wide range from technical aspects to structural equation modelling to develop novel contributions to the area, by developing guidelines and methods for embedding privacy, user transparency, control, trust and incentives from the start in the design of a data-sharing framework.
I completed my Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Saskatchewan, obtained my MSc degree in Ethical Hacking and Computer Security from the University of Abertay Dundee, and earned an Engineering degree in Electronics and Communication from Tribhuvan University.
I have served as a Division Assistant in the Research Training and Consultancy Division (RTCD) at KEC, Tribhuvan University. Additionally, I worked as a Project Supervisor at The British College, a Franchise college of Leeds Beckett University, UK. I have also engaged in collaborative research at Lyon 2 lumière Université, France, focusing on building a common cloud platform for meta-products. Furthermore, I collaborated with the US-based companies ARTiFACTS and Bayes Solutions to explore and experiment with blockchain technologies in research artifact sharing and machine learning models.
When I am not occupied with teaching, programming, or researching, I am likely traveling, especially if it involves exploring new places or trekking."
