Egypt Reiterates Rejection Of Israeli Occupation Continued Aggression On Gaza

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Aug 15 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on Friday reaffirmed Egypt's rejection of Israeli occupation's military escalation in Gaza and the recent settlement expansion in the West Bank.
According to a Foreign Ministry statement, the remarks came during a phone call with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, as part of Egypt's intensified diplomatic efforts to reach a ceasefire and support humanitarian relief in Gaza.
Abdelatty warned that continued Israeli occupation policies risk deepening regional instability and called for a political horizon to achieve a just and lasting solution guaranteeing Palestinian rights, including statehood.
He emphasized Egypt's ongoing efforts for a ceasefire, urging increased international pressure, particularly from the EU, to open the five Israel-controlled crossings and ensure the flow of humanitarian and medical aid to Gaza.
The minister also briefed Kallas on Egypt's coordination with Qatar and the US to reach a comprehensive agreement involving a ceasefire, aid entry, release of prisoners and Palestinian detainees, and preparations for an international reconstruction conference in Cairo.
Kallas lauded Egypt's mediation efforts and stressed the EU's readiness to support ceasefire initiatives and participate in reconstruction efforts. (end)
