Ukrainian Drones Strike Russia’s Nuclear Training Center

(MENAFN) Three Ukrainian drones struck the training center at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) on Sunday evening, according to the facility’s Russia-appointed administration, which reported the incident on Monday.

The drones hit an area roughly 250 to 300 meters from the plant’s first reactor unit. While the strike did not trigger any fires or cause significant structural damage, authorities have launched an investigation to determine the full scope of the incident.

Despite the nearby impact, plant operations have not been disrupted. "The safety of the plant's operation remains intact," said the administration.

The targeted facility includes a full-scale simulator replicating a nuclear reactor control room—an essential component for employee training and certification.

Situated near the city of Energodar along the Dnieper River's left bank, the ZNPP houses six nuclear reactors, each capable of generating 1 gigawatt of power.
