Texas Flood Death Toll Up To 24

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON, July 5 (KUNA) -- The death toll from flash flooding in parts of central Texas early Friday has risen to 24, according to local authorities.
US President Donald Trump called the central Texas flooding "terrible" and pledged federal support in the aftermath.
"It's terrible. The floods? It's shocking. They don't know the answer yet as to how many people, but it looks like some young people have died," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One as he traveled to New Jersey.
Asked if there will be federal aid, Trump answered, "Oh yeah, we'll take care of them. We're working with the governor. We're working with the governor. It's a terrible thing."
Meanwhile, Texas Governor Greg Abbott said, "All-night rescue effort: Searches to find those unaccounted for will continue in the darkness of night." (end)
