IAEA Urges Iran To Resume Cooperation With Nuclear Inspectors

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) VIENNA, July 4 (KUNA) -- The International Atomic Energy Agency said a team of inspectors left Iran for the headquarters of the Agency in Geneva on Friday after staying in Tehran throughout the recent military conflict with Israel.
The move came two days after Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian approved a law to suspend cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog.
Director-General of the Agency Rafael Mariano Grossi regretted the Iranian decision, reiterating the crucial importance of the IAEA discussing with Iran modalities for resuming "its indispensable monitoring and verification activities in Iran as soon as possible." (end)
