Seminars In Brazil Present Arab Market Potential
On Tuesday (1), the Brazil-Arab Countries Seminar: Connecting Minas Gerais' Agrifood Sector to International Opportunities presented the economy and business culture of Arab countries and highlighted the importance of obtaining halal certification to export to Muslim-majority countries. Halal products are those made in accordance with Islamic rules.
At the same event, ABCC Internationalization Project Manager Fernanda Dantas and Senior Institutional Relations Analyst Elaine Prates presented the ABCC's initiatives to promote business between Brazil and Arab countries. ABCC Business Executive Filipe Ferraz held meetings with companies during the seminar days.
The same program was presented in Uberlândia this Thursday (3), but to an audience from various sectors beyond food and beverages.
“Here [in Uberlândia], there was great diversity, as it wasn't just food and beverage companies-we also had participation from other sectors,” said Dantas. In both Belo Horizonte and Uberlândia, companies that already export to the Arab world shared their experiences selling to the region. Additionally, technical visits were held in both cities to companies interested in exporting to Middle Eastern and North African countries.
“It has been a very good week of information sharing, bringing these opportunities to companies, considering that the state [of Minas Gerais] has a large number of high-quality companies already ready for export,” said Dantas.
The event was promoted by the Minas Gerais State Secretariat of Economic Development, the Minas Gerais State Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Minas Gerais government sustainable development agency Emater–MG, and Minas Gerais' state Federation of Industries (FIEMG).
