Mid-Air Scare On Spicejet Flight
Dhaka: Passengers aboard SpiceJet flight SG-1080 from Goa to Pune on July 1 experienced a mid-air scare when a window frame came loose.
A passenger, Mandar Sawant, reported that the incident occurred about 30 minutes after takeoff, near a mother and her baby.
The cabin crew reassigned their seats and attempted to reattach the frame.
SpiceJet clarified that the dislodged part was a non-structural cosmetic window trim, not affecting cabin pressure or flight safety.
The outer, pressure-bearing windowpane remained intact.
The airline confirmed there was no depressurisation and that passenger safety was never compromised. The component was repaired after landing.
Sawant also noted“We got to know at the airport that the flight was delayed the previous day as well due to 'technical issues," he further added, pointing out that the flight was originally scheduled for 5.20 pm on July 1, departed an hour and a half late at 6.55 pm and that he did not get any message or update from the airline that the flight was delayed.
