Amman, July 2 (Petra|) -- The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army on Wednesday implemented the sixth medical evacuation operation for child patients from Gaza, which included 23 patients, along with 47 family members, as part of the Jordan Medical Corridor initiative.
Nineteen of the children will be receiving treatment at Jordanian private hospitals, accompanied by 40 from their families, while four patients will be evacuated to Türkiye for treatment, alongside seven family members, within international collaboration with Jordan's humanitarian efforts.
The patients and their accompanying family members were evacuated in cooperation with Jordan's Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation (WHO).
A total of 77 children and 169 family members have been medically evacuated by land and air to Jordan since the medical corridor initiative was launched.
Jordan is keen to evacuate more child patients from Gaza and to expedite the process, but there are limitations due to technical and logistical challenges facing the WHO, as well as Israeli restrictions.
The Jordan Medical Corridor initiative was launched in March this year upon Royal directives, in line with the Kingdom's steadfast role in supporting the people of Gaza.
