Weyauwega Sweeps The Butter Class At 2025 Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Products Contest
SHEBOYGAN, Wis., July 2, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Continuing a tradition of excellence, Weyauwega was recognized with first place honors in both the Salted and Unsalted Butter categories at the 2025 Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Products Contest. The resounding win at one of the industry's most respected competitions reflects the passion and pride that goes into every batch of butter crafted by the Weyauwega family.
With Wisconsin roots stretching back over a century, Weyauwega has become known for craftsmanship, commitment to family values and honoring the state's tradition of dairy production. Using locally sourced milk from family-owned dairy farms, the Knaus family continues to serve 'Wisconsin's Finest' to retailers and restaurants across Wisconsin and beyond.
"This is a huge win for our entire Weyauwega family. Winning first place for salted and unsalted butter in a prestigious competition like the Wisconsin State Fair is something we're incredibly proud of," said Steve Knaus. "These awards are a testament to the more than four generations of craftsmanship behind our name and the incredible team that brings that legacy to life every day."
Each entry in the Dairy Products Contest was evaluated by a panel of expert judges for flavor, texture, color, and overall quality. In a well-respected industry competition with over 500 entries across all dairy categories, Weyauwega's sweep of the butter category places them firmly at the top of their class.
Weyauwega's award-winning butters will be featured at the Blue Ribbon Dairy Products Auction, taking place on August 7, 2025, during the Wisconsin State Fair at Saz's Hospitality Village. The auction supports scholarships for students pursuing careers in the dairy industry and funds consumer dairy education throughout the state.
