Sweden Slates UAH 590M For Ukraine Cybersecurity


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) This was reported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine on Facebook, Ukrinform saw.

"Sweden allocates 590+ million hryvnias to strengthen Ukraine's cybersecurity... The funds will be used to upgrade IT infrastructure, strengthen protection of digital products, and train employees at key government agencies," the report says.

The ministry noted that the war continues not only on the battlefield, but also in cyberspace. In 2024, Ukraine's public sector and state bodies were targeted in over 2,000 cyberattacks.

"Thanks to Sida's support, we will run projects so that the digital government works smoothly and Ukrainians enjoy online services in any circumstances," the Ministry of Digital Affairs emphasized.

Sida funding will come through ESTDEV, the Estonian government fund responsible for managing and implementing international development and humanitarian aid projects.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on June 5, the Swedish government instructed the country's armed forces to allocate 550 million Swedish kronor ($30 million) to support Ukraine within NATO.
