Istios Health Announces A $5.6M Seed Funding Round Led By BIP Ventures -
Phoenix, AZ, June 23, 2025 – Qwoted Newswire – Istios Health Inc., a healthcare technology company focused on infectious disease (ID) care, has closed a $5.6 million seed funding round led by BIP Ventures , with participation from RVM Enterprises -the family office of Dr. Roger Medel, founder and former CEO of Pediatrix (NYSE: MD). Dr. Medel will join the Istios Board of Directors as Chairman.
“We are excited to partner with BIP Ventures, which has deep experience in health technology and solutions,” said Nikos Nikolopoulos , CEO and co-founder of Istios Health.“We have put together a world-class team of business and clinical professionals to build out a high-performing integrated physician and clinical site network powered by our real-world data and physician enablement platform called ID Navigator.”
Over 80% of U.S. counties lack access to an ID specialist. Meanwhile, rising antimicrobial resistance, sepsis, and emerging infections are increasing the burden of disease. Yet the infrastructure for ID clinical trials remains fragmented, slowing innovation in diagnostics and therapeutics.
To accelerate its strategy, Istios has merged with NoD MD (d/b/a NoD Health), a pioneer in tele-infectious disease consults. NoD's founder, Dr. Madhu Murthy , now serves as an Istios co-founder and Head of Clinical Partnerships, as well as sitting on the Board of Directors for the company.
“By joining forces with Istios and building a platform that integrates care delivery with clinical research and real-world data, we have the opportunity to fundamentally reshape how infectious diseases are treated, studied, and prevented at a national scale,” said Dr. Murthy .
Nick Carlucci , co-founder and COO, added,“We are building the operating system for infectious disease, designed to improve patient care and physician satisfaction. From rural hospitals to biotech sponsors, our infectious disease platform connects the dots for smarter care, better research, and stronger outcomes.”
“As experienced investors in healthcare tech, we understand the critical problem Istios Health is positioned to solve. We understand how their integrated model can revolutionize infectious disease care and trial discovery,” said Austin Poole , General Partner of BIP Ventures.“We're thrilled to partner with this accomplished, focused team. We have every reason to believe this team has the experience, vision, ability, and resources to deliver innovation across clinical care and research.”
The funding will support platform expansion, physician network growth, and product commercialization of a Real-World Evidence (RWE) data platform.
