Israel Unleashes Massive Airstrikes on Iran
(MENAFN) On Sunday, the Israeli military announced a sweeping aerial campaign targeting critical military infrastructure across Iran, including locations in Tehran and the country's western regions. The strikes aimed at disrupting Iran's missile and intelligence systems, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
The IDF reported that around 20 combat aircraft executed the mission, deploying more than 30 precision-guided munitions against designated objectives in the provinces of Kermanshah and Hamedan.
According to the statement, the offensive struck an array of high-value assets such as missile depots, launch facilities, military radars, and satellite installations. Additionally, an anti-aircraft missile system located near Tehran was also destroyed.
Iranian state television confirmed hearing explosions east of Tehran, an area known for its dense concentration of military facilities, including the highly restricted Parchin military zone.
In a separate incident in central Iran’s Isfahan province, a drone attack attributed to Israel resulted in three fatalities, media reported. The victims were in an ambulance at the time.
Quoting Najafabad County Governor Hamidreza Mohammadi Fesharaki, the report stated the vehicle was transporting a patient when it was struck. He confirmed the deaths of the patient, a medical companion, and the driver.
Earlier in the day, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirmed the country’s military resolve: "Israel will continue to operate at full tilt in both Iran and Gaza," he said. He further emphasized: "We will not stop this historic operation before we achieve our goals," adding that Israel would not allow itself to be "dragged into a war of attrition."
