Jordan's Candidate Wins Seat On OIC Human Rights Commission

Amman, June 21 (Petra) – The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs on Saturday announced the election of Jordan's nominee, Judge Mansour Tawalbeh, to the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The vote took place on the sidelines of the 51st session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.
Ministry Spokesperson Sufyan Qudah hailed Tawalbeh's election as a testament to Jordan's prominent standing and active role in advancing public freedoms and human rights.
He also praised the IPHRC's role in strengthening the human rights framework within OIC member states and reinforcing mechanisms for protecting and promoting human rights across the Islamic world.
