Partisans In Crimea Scout Boom Barrier System In Sevastopol Bay

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) In Russian-occupied Crimea, Ukrainian partisans have scouted the system of boom barriers installed in Sevastopol Bay.

That is according to the Telegram channel Crimean Wind , Ukrinform reports.

"'Our eyes' see everything: the boom barrier system protecting Sevastopol Bay, along with its security arrangements, has been scouted," the report reads.

In addition to the primary boom barriers at the bay's entrance, similar obstacles have also been installed to block off the Southern Bay (a section of the larger Sevastopol Bay) and the eastern part of the bay. The latter features a line of barrels connected by cables, placed across from the Avlita grain terminal.

These defenses are reportedly meant to protect Russian naval vessels from potential attacks by Ukrainian naval drones, in case they breach the main outer barrier.

According to the partisans, the waters of the bay are constantly patrolled by various types of Russian boats. One such vessel, seen in reconnaissance photos, is a Raptor-class patrol boat equipped with the Uprava-Kord combat module. This includes a 14.5mm KPVT heavy machine gun, a fire control system, and two 7.62mm Pecheneg machine guns.

Shore areas of the bay outside of strictly military zones are also under guard by patrols-some of whom are dressed in civilian clothing.
