Egypt, Uganda Foreign Ministers Discuss Strengthening Ties

(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty, and Uganda's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Henry Oryem Okello, discussed strengthening bilateral relations and coordinating on issues of mutual interest during a phone call on Monday.

The call saw an exchange of views on methods to advance relations between Egypt and Uganda across various fields. The ministers focused on economic and investment cooperation, as well as technical and developmental areas, including infrastructure and energy projects. They also addressed the importance of activating existing cooperation mechanisms to further develop relations.

During the call, Minister Abdelatty stressed the importance of arranging the second round of political and technical consultations between Egypt and Uganda at the earliest opportunity. He stated that these talks, involving the foreign and irrigation ministers of both nations, would contribute to advancing bilateral cooperation and achieving the sustainable, mutual interests of both countries.

The Egyptian minister noted the importance of building on the cooperation achieved in recent years and exploring new opportunities to expand their partnership for the benefit of the people of both nations.

The two ministers concluded the call by affirming their commitment to continued consultation and coordination in the coming period. They agreed to work on preparing for high-level mutual visits, which would help advance the course of their bilateral relations and reflect the historic ties between the two countries.
