QU Law Professor Appointed UNIDROIT Correspondent For Qatar
Doha: Qatar University College of Law has announced the appointment of Prof. Nisreen Mahasneh as a Correspondent for Qatar to UNIDROIT – the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law.
The appointment was confirmed at UNIDROIT's 105th Governing Council session, held in Rome from May 20 to 23, 2025, following a proposal by the Permanent Committee for Correspondents.
Prof. Mahasneh will serve a three-year term from June 2025 to May 2028.
Correspondents support UNIDROIT by providing information on national law for the Secretariat, act as an expert counsel on transnational legal matters, and acting as informal ambassadors for the organization within their respective countries. They also contribute to events and assist in liaising with local governments and institutions.
“This is a proud moment for QU Law and we wish Prof. Nisreen all the best as we have every confidence that she will excel in her role,” said Dr. Talal Abdulla Al-Emadi, Dean of Qatar University College of Law.
