Pakistan Plans Tri-Nation T20 Series With Afghanistan And UAE Ahead Of Asia Cup

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) There are strong indications that a tri-nation T20 series featuring Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) may take place ahead of the Asia Cup. Initially, the Afghanistan team was scheduled to tour Pakistan in August for a three-match T20 series. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is now considering turning the bilateral series into a triangular tournament.

According to sources, the PCB aims to include UAE in the proposed series with Afghanistan as part of preparations for the Asia Cup. It is also considering shifting the venue to the UAE to better align with the possible location and weather conditions of the Asia Cup.

Sources further revealed that the tri-nation series is likely to be hosted in the UAE, which is also being considered as a potential venue for the Asia Cup itself.

It is worth noting that earlier reports suggested Pakistan could tour Bangladesh in July for a three-match T20 series. Discussions between the Pakistan and Bangladesh cricket boards are underway, and the tour is expected to be finalized soon.

The Bangladesh series is likely to take place before Pakistan's scheduled tour of the West Indies, with a tentative window from July 18 to 24 under consideration.
