(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)
Amman, June 11 (Petra) – A student team from Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) won first place at the national level and ranked 4th in the Middle East and North Africa region in the global IMA Student Case Competition.
The challenge is organized annually by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), with the participation of 106 teams from 100 universities in the region.
The winning team is comprised of Dina Musallam, Jana Anzawi, Nart Jalouka, and Majida Amarneh, under the supervision of Dr. Rasha Ghezawi and Dr. Wael Atawi from King Talal School of Business Technology.
According to a PSUT statement issued on Wednesday, the university's president, Dr. Wijdan Abu Haija, commended "excellence" of the students and their supervisors in the accounting fields.
Abu Haija also hailed the students' competence, "outstanding" efforts, and "active" engagement in representing the university and raising its reputation in academic forums locally, regionally, and internationally.
Abu Haija noted this achievement reflects PSUT's education "quality" and its "commitment" to enabling its students to compete globally.
This effort, she stated, aligns with vision of HRH Princess Sumaya, Chair of the University's Board of Trustees, to position the PSUT among the world's leading universities.
Additionally, she referred to Princess Sumaya's continued support for development of PSUT's scientific and research path to keep pace with the modern education system and the changing requirements of the labor market.
Meanwhile, Dean of King Talal College of Business Technology, Dr. George Sammour, said the winning team achieved these "distinguished" positions after a fierce competition, which confirmed "competence and excellence" level of the university's students.
Sammour indicated that the final stage of the competition was held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in cooperation with the Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA).
