Musk’s dad pressures him to confess defeat
(MENAFN) Errol Musk, father of billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, has advised his son to back down in his escalating feud with U.S. President Donald Trump, predicting that Trump will ultimately come out on top due to his broad public support.
The dispute between Musk and Trump intensified on Thursday after disagreements over Trump’s “Big and Beautiful” tax and spending bill turned into a public spat on social media. Elon Musk, who recently resigned as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), criticized Trump’s perceived ingratitude, called for his impeachment, and even threatened to suspend NASA-related launches by grounding the Dragon spacecraft.
Trump responded by accusing Musk of acting irrationally, attributing the conflict to the removal of the EV Mandate, which had financially benefited Tesla.
In an interview with Al Arabiya, Errol Musk said Trump holds the upper hand in this political clash. “Of course Trump will win,” he stated, noting that during his recent visit to the U.S., he observed overwhelming support for the president: “I would like to say 80%, but actually 100% behind Trump.”
He revealed he had messaged Elon, urging him to de-escalate the situation, describing the feud as unnecessary posturing between two powerful “alpha” figures. Drawing a comparison to dominant animals like lions and elephants, he suggested that such confrontations stem from stress and constant public scrutiny.
Errol expressed hope that if Elon ends the dispute quickly, it would only be “a bump in the road” in his relationship with Trump. When asked whether reconciliation is possible, he affirmed, “Yes, of course.”
