West Drafts IAEA Resolution Against Iran's Lack Of Coop.

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) VIENNA, June 10 (KUNA) -- Western nations tabled a resolution against Iran on Tuesday in a meeting of the UN nuclear watchdog's board of governors, accusing Tehran of a "lack" of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The draft resolution, collectively presented by the US, France, UK and Germany, holds the Islamic Republic responsible for its "failures to uphold its obligations since 2019 to the IAEA with full and timely cooperation," over nuclear activity at various undeclared locations.
The resolution states that such actions constitute "non-compliance" with the obligations under Tehran's Safeguards agreement with the UN nuclear watchdog, it added.
Tehran's "failure" to cooperate with the IAEA renders the UN nuclear watchdog "unable" to provide assurance that Iran's nuclear program is exclusively peaceful, according to the resolution.
IAEA chief Rafael Grossi had cited an IAEA quarterly report on the NPT Safeguards Agreement with Tehran, which showed that inspection teams found man-made uranium particles in three undeclared locations in Iran, which led to the conclusion of a "structured nuclear program" carried out by Iran, he said.
