Doha, Qatar: In a powerful acceptance speech after receiving an honorary doctorate from the University of Manchester, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola expressed his anguish over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Guardiola, who was conferred the degree today at Whitworth Hall, spoke emotionally about the war's heavy toll.

“It's so painful what we see in Gaza. It hurts my whole body... Maybe we think that we see the boys and girls of four years old being killed by the bomb... but be careful... the next four‐ or five‐year‐old kids will be ours,” Guardiola said.

Recalling thoughts of his own children (Maria, Marius, and Valentina), Guardiola warned against indifference.

“When I see every morning, the infants in Gaza, I'm so scared,” he added.

He urged people not to remain silent in the face of suffering, emphasizing that compassion transcends political divides.

The manager emphasized“the human suffering, particularly the plight of young children, urging empathy and a broader sense of shared humanity.”
