Greater Noida Authority Bars 27 Polluting Industries From Industrial Plot Allocation

(MENAFN- KNN India) Noida, Jun 10 (KNN) The Greater Noida Authority has implemented stringent restrictions on industrial plot allocation, barring 27 categories of polluting industries from establishing operations within the city.

The prohibited sectors include chemical fertilisers, pan masala manufacturing, paint production, liquor distillation, and petrochemical operations.

This policy enforcement represents a direct response to escalating pollution concerns in the Delhi-National Capital Region.

While these restrictions previously existed within Greater Noida Authority guidelines, officials have announced stricter implementation protocols due to deteriorating air quality conditions.

The Authority's latest industrial plot scheme, launched in the previous month offering 40 available plots, operates under these enhanced environmental standards.

Certain industrial categories, including dyeing and bleaching operations, may receive conditional approval subject to compliance with specific environmental safeguards.

The Authority has designated eight industrial zones for development under the current scheme, encompassing Ecotech-11, Ecotech-3, Udyog Kendra Extension-1, Ecotech-1 Extension, Ecotech-2, Udyog Vihar Extension, Ecotech-6 Block B, and Ecotech-10.

Plot allocations range from 450 square meters to 8,000 square meters, accommodating various scales of industrial operations within the approved framework.

Senior Manager Arvind Mohan Singh confirmed that 242 categories of industrial units remain eligible for plot allocation despite the environmental restrictions.

Approved industries include incense stick manufacturing, handicraft production, electronic component assembly, and other manufacturing operations classified as environmentally sustainable.

This approach seeks to balance industrial growth objectives with environmental protection requirements for the broader Delhi-NCR region.
