The bus had 32 passengers, including 28 tourists of Indian origin, three tour guides, and a driver, who were on their way to spend a night at the Panari Hotel in Nyahururu Town.
However, the identity of the dead is yet to be verified while 27 are injured and admitted in various hospitals in Kenya.
The accident happened on the Ol Joro Orok-Nakuru Highway in Gichaka area, Nyandarua County, Kenyan newspaper 'Daily Nation' reported.
The driver lost control of the bus, swerved on the road before hitting a tree on the roadside and rolled, killing the occupants, the report said.
Nyandarua Central Police boss Stella Cherono confirmed that five of the victims died on the spot, while 27 others sustained injuries.
"It was raining when the accident occurred. We had a loud bang and went to see what was happening, and that is when we spotted the bus rolling. Residents and well-wishers moved swiftly to rescue the victims," the Daily Nation quoted, John Mwaura, a resident.
