(MENAFN- PR Newswire) "Social isolation and loneliness are not just personal struggles-they are national challenges that impact our health and the very fabric of our communities. Timed to coincide with Global Loneliness Awareness Week (June 9–15, 2025) an international campaign led by the Global Initiative on Loneliness and Connection (GILC) in partnership with the Marmalade Trust , this year's event carries the unifying theme: "Meeting Loneliness Together." It calls on individuals, communities, and institutions to confront loneliness head-on, dismantle stigma, and drive collective action.

Throughout the day, diverse voices from across healthcare, arts, education, technology, nutrition, workforce, and the built environment will engage in dynamic panels and fireside conversations. These sessions will highlight how innovative policy and practice across sectors can drive improvements in population health, economic mobility, and overall quality of life, from early childhood through older adulthood.

Key Congressional leaders will headline the event, including Representatives Ami Bera (D-CA-06) and Becca Balint (D-VT-At-Large), two champions of bipartisan legislation to combat loneliness and social isolation. Their participation underscores the growing momentum on Capitol Hill to treat connection as a core component of national policy.

But the work won't stop at the event stage. The convening will culminate in coordinating our Action Network Member Hill Visits, where advocates, researchers, and practitioners will meet directly with federal lawmakers. These conversations aim to translate the day's momentum into real-world impact through personal storytelling, compelling data, and actionable policy proposals. Together, they will urge Congress to prioritize social connection as a national imperative and support legislation that advances community, inclusion, and mental health.

Through collaboration, bold ideas, and sustained advocacy, it moves us closer to a future where every person feels seen, supported, and socially connected.
