Restoring Lebanon Sovereignty, Trust Key To Recovery - PM

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT, June 10 (KUNA) -- Restoring Lebanon's sovereignty and trust is "key" to push forward a national recovery process, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said on Tuesday, citing economic reforms as another necessity.
"It is time to rebuild the state, this is a core mission of my government," the prime minister told a press conference on rebuilding Beirut, in which he underlined measures such as restoring sovereignty, securing borders and stabilizing the country as key objectives moving forward.
On other goals his government is pursuing, the Lebanese prime minister pinpointed progress on depositorsآ' rights, judicial independence and upcoming legislation for Artificial Intelligence governances as current plans in the works, state-run NNA news agency cited him as saying.
Addressing the conference, Lebanese Chartered Institute of Arbitrators chief Mohammad Abdulwahab called for the need to ratchet up foreign investment in Beirut, at a time where the country is mired in crisis, he said.
The Lebanese official went on to say that the conference was tantamount to a platform for dialogue and the exchange of ideas over the steps that need to be taken to accelerate the reconstruction process in Beirut. (end)
