Zelensky Outlines Acceptable Outcome Of Talks With Putin For Ukraine
When asked what kind of agreement or document would suit Ukraine if talks in Türkiye were successful, Zelensky responded, "I think a ceasefire."
Speaking at a briefing, he emphasized that, under the current circumstances, no other outcome would be sufficient, as a ceasefire is merely the first step toward ending the war.
“I do not want to speak about what would fully satisfy us. We will reach that point-it lies ahead. It is a matter of justice, first and foremost, and of understanding the broader context of this war: how it ends and in what way. That's why I wouldn't delve too far or too deeply into it, even though I have a complete understanding of the process. Still, I believe we must demonstrate a certain result,” he stated.
Zelensky also highlighted that the outcome of these negotiations would not only impact Ukraine but also its allies.
“I believe it is not just beneficial for us. The United States will still follow through on its commitments if Russia refuses to show a willingness to end this war. And the only way to demonstrate that willingness is through the first essential step-a ceasefire,” he concluded.
