Cooling Trend Continues With Dusty Night Forecast In Desert Regions
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)
Amman, May 13 (Petra) -- A temperature drop is forecast on Monday, with most regions seeing mild weather conditions and relatively higher temperatures in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.
Clouds are expected at medium and high altitudes throughout the day, while southwesterly winds will remain active, occasionally reaching strong gusts, particularly in desert areas where blowing dust is anticipated.
In the evening, dusty conditions will persist, especially across the eastern and southern desert regions. Temperatures will fall further, becoming relatively cold over high mountain areas and remaining mild elsewhere.
Cloud cover at various altitudes will continue, with a chance of short-lived, scattered showers, particularly in the southern and eastern parts of the Kingdom, which may be accompanied by thunder. Winds will remain moderate from the southwest, becoming active at times.
A further decrease in temperatures is expected on Wednesday. The weather will be generally mild across most regions, while conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba are forecast to remain moderate. Early morning showers may occur in the northern parts of the country. Winds will shift to northwesterly and remain moderate, with intermittent gusts that could raise dust, particularly in desert areas.
Temperatures will begin to rise again on Thursday, bringing moderate conditions to most parts of the country and relatively hot weather to the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Low-altitude clouds may appear during the day, with moderate northwesterly winds occasionally becoming active.
On Friday, another rise in temperatures is expected. Relatively hot weather will prevail across most regions, with hotter conditions in desert areas, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. High-altitude clouds will be present, while easterly winds will blow at moderate speeds and may become active at times.
Today's temperatures across the Kingdom are expected to vary significantly by region. In East Amman, highs will reach 27 C with lows of 15 C, while West Amman will see slightly cooler conditions at 25 C / 13 C.
The northern highlands are forecast to record 23 C during the day and 12 C at night, and the Sharah highlands will be cooler at 22 C / 11 C. Desert areas will be warmer, with temperatures ranging from 31 C to 16 C. In the plains, the mercury is expected to reach 28 C during the day and drop to 15 C overnight.
The northern Jordan Valley will experience a high of 33 C and a low of 18 C, while the southern valley will be hotter at 35 C / 20 C. Temperatures around the Dead Sea will hover around 34 C by day and 19 C at night.
