Abu Dhabi To Host Disney Park

(MENAFN- Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA)) São Paulo – The Walt Disney Company has announced the creation of a resort and theme park in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. On Wednesday (7), the company disclosed an agreement with Miral, a developer of immersive destinations and experiences in the emirate, for the execution of the project, which will be located on Yas Island.

The development will combine Disney stories, characters, and attractions with the culture, coastlines, and architecture of Abu Dhabi. The company says the project will bring together contemporary architecture and cutting-edge technology, calling it authentically Disney and distinctly Emirati.

The resort will be developed and built by Miral, but Disney and its professionals will lead the creative design and oversee operations. Miral, which has developed a series of family entertainment destinations on Yas Island in collaboration with international brands, will operate the resort, according to the statement.

It will be Disney's seventh theme park destination. The Walt Disney Company is targeting the tourism movement in the UAE, noting that the country is just a four-hour flight away from a third of the world's population, and that 120 million passengers travel through Abu Dhabi and Dubai airports each year.
