
Frederick Health Announces Appointment Of Dr. Cheryl Cioffi As New President And CEO Change Effective July 1, 2025
FREDERICK, Md., May 8, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Frederick Health Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Cheryl Cioffi, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE as the next President and Chief Executive Officer of the healthcare system. Dr. Cioffi's appointment followed a comprehensive and thorough succession planning and executive search process.
For nearly three decades, Dr. Cioffi has risen through the ranks to various leadership positions including Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and most recently, Chief Administrative Officer of the system. Her healthcare journey began in direct patient care, bringing a unique depth of perspective to her executive leadership.

Her appointment is effective July 1, 2025. Tom Kleinhanzl, the current President and CEO will retire on October 31, 2025. He will serve out the balance of his term Frederick Health as CEO-emeritus.
