Kuwait Amb. To Portugal Discusses Coop. With KAICIID In Lisbon


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MADRID, May 8 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Ambassador to Portugal Hamad Al-Hazeem and Acting Secretary-General of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID) Ambassador Antonio de Almeida-Ribeiro, discussed cooperation between Kuwait and the center.
In a statement to KUNA, Al-Hazeem said the meeting, held at KAICIID's headquarters in Lisbon, focused on the center's initiatives to promote global religious tolerance and dialogue.
He noted discussions included opportunities for collaboration between Kuwaiti institutions and KAICIID to support religious, social, and humanitarian causes.
Ambassador Ribeiro expressed readiness to strengthen cooperation with Kuwait and the Arab region to foster peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and dialogue.
KAICIID, founded in 2011 by Saudi Arabia, Austria, and Spain, with the Vatican as a founding observer, works to promote dialogue among followers of different religions and cultures to prevent conflict and build lasting peace.
Ribeiro, who assumed his post in January, has been honored with several awards from countries including Portugal, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Italy, France, Jordan, and Peru. (end)
