Arab-Iranian Dialogue Conference On May 10-12
Doha, Qatar: Al Jazeera Centre for Studies and the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations in Iran will organise the fourth edition of the Arab-Iranian Dialogue Conference, set to take place in Doha from May 10 to 12 under the title,“Strong Relations and Mutual Benefits”. The event will bring together a distinguished group of officials, experts and researchers specialising in regional and international affairs.
This edition of the conference comes at a critical moment for the region, amid major transformations and rising challenges, giving the gathering exceptional significance as an open platform for strengthening dialogue between the Arab world and Iran, and for building partnerships rooted in shared interests and regional stability.
The conference aims to deepen discussions on ways to enhance Arab-Iranian dialogue and explore the establishment of a sustainable strategic partnership capable of confronting the many challenges facing the region. Through its diverse sessions, participants will seek to develop both theoretical and practical frameworks for advancing regional cooperation based on mutual understanding and trust.
The fourth edition's agenda will address several pressing issues, starting with the major challenges roiling the Middle East, with a focus on how escalation and de-escalation are reshaping regional power dynamics. Discussions will also examine the internal situation in Lebanon and the future of Hezbollah following Israeli strikes on its military and organisational infrastructure, opening debate on possible scenarios for Lebanon's political future.
On the Syrian front, participants will explore Iranian-Syrian relations in the post-Bashar al-Assad era and the opportunities for forging new alliances that promote regional stability.
The Yemeni crisis will also feature prominently, with discussions centred on the prospects for achieving comprehensive and sustainable peace through a proposed Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue track, while paying special attention to the ongoing political and humanitarian challenges.
A substantial portion of the conference will focus on the Palestinian cause. Participants will examine the repercussions of Operation Tufan al-Aqsa on the trajectory of the Palestinian national project and highlight Arab and Iranian perspectives on its future amid a shifting political landscape.
The conference will conclude with discussions on enhancing economic cooperation between Arab states and Iran, viewing it as a fundamental pillar for strengthening both bilateral and multilateral ties. Experts will exchange insights on opportunities for joint investment and expanded collaboration in the fields of economy, energy, development and technology.
The public opening session will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 7pm in Doha, with the attendance of prominent figures representing the various parties involved in Arab-Iranian dialogue.
The Arab-Iranian Dialogue Conference has established itself as a vital forum since its inaugural edition in Doha in 2022. The previous three sessions were: First edition: Doha, May 21-23, 2022, under the title,“A Dialogue about the Region's Crises”, Second edition: Doha, May 27-29, 2023, under the title,“Approaches and Solutions to Security, Economy and Crises”, and Third edition: Tehran, May 12-15, 2024, under the title,“Dialogue for Cooperation and Interaction”
This year's edition reaffirms the importance of sustaining and deepening dialogue, driven by a shared conviction that building strong, mutually beneficial relations is the optimal path to achieving peace and sustainable development in the region.
