(MENAFN- Live Mint) Late Pope Francis ' funeral is currently taking place on Saturday at the Vatican's St Peter's Square. Leaders from across the world arrived to pay last tributes to the Pope who died on 21 April. While the funeral brings together US President Donald Trump and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensk together for the first time since their highly publicised confrontation in the Oval Office in February, the two were not seated next to each other as one might expect.

Prince William, Trump's predecessor Joe Biden, Britain's Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron also reached to attend the funeral.

Pope Francis Passes Away

Pope Francis took his last breathe on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025, at the age of 88 at his residence in the Vatican's Casa Santa Marta, according to a statement from the Vatican.

He dedicated the Easter Urbi et Orbi message to calling for peace worldwide, global disarmament, and the release of prisoners whiling citing conflicts across the world including Palestine-Israel conflict and Ukraine war. He also shared a special message for political world leaders.
